Hey guys Dylan here, my first blog. bout time ay. today we got back from the niah caves which i thought was pretty awesome, we got to walk through total darkness in this massive cave, great experience.
Today i got to have a rest, i went shopping for a little while, everything over here is so cheap. Nike shoes are a quarter of the price of the ones you see in melbourne.
anyway. tomorrow we fly into KK which is gonna be awesome. we climb Mt Kinabalu on thursday, then on friday get to see the orangutans in sepilok for a few days, the we get back to KK and we get to go snorkelling and swimming, shopping, and maybe even stay in a luxury hotel.
can’t believe only 9 days left. its gone so fast.
going out for dinner now.
I’ll be blogging again soon.
cya.
Hey everyone the team has recently come back from Niah Caves which was alright I guess just lots of rocky walls and slippery grounds, we also saw how birds nest were collected for bird nest soup by climbing thin ladders up to the roof of the cave and taking down the nests. Some people went to see the painting caves which they claimed was good but I totally doubt it and the rest just saw the great caves then sat around and had a very interesting conversation. After the caves we went back to our accomodation which was really nice and hung out for a bit until dinner which was rather dissapointing so we left as soon as we were finished and had our debrief then everyone vacated to their rooms for a relaxing nights sleep. In the morning we woke up, had breakfast and then waited around for our transport to arrive and made it back to Miri, booked into our accomodation then went out for lunch. We only came back from lunch recently and now we are just hanging out hoping something exciting will happen though i doubt anything will. Well i’m off and will probably never blog again because it’s so not worth it. Out peeps
Love Becky. p.s happy mum I totally just blogged love you xx

Hey one and all! How’s everyone doing? It’s Gayertree here, my very first blog entry, so just bear with me will ya? Currently at the hostel in Miri, the one that smells horribly of cat crap (something seriously has to be done about it man, geez!). We’re having brekkie, and getting ready to head off to the Niah Caves.
After a whole 4 days of blood, sweat, and thankfully no tears or injuries, the general mood is quite high really. I guess everyone’s just glad to get back to civilisation and enjoy all that modern technology has to offer. FREE INTERNET! WHOOO HOOOOO!! But seriously, everyone definitely has taken something back with them from our time in Bario, and those 10 days willl never be forgotten. The kindness and hospitality shown to us by our host Aunty Nancy, and the people we met along the way, and our awesomely fantastic guides Chris and Petrus(that guy i swear, is truly my hero), will always be remembered. The project phase left all of us with a great sense of satisfaction and achievement, and it was hard handing over to the next team who was going to work on it. We did almost 2 teams worth of work, wasnt really much for the rest of them to do. WE ARE SUCH LEGENDS! GO WHEELERS/BAYSWATER! The jungle trek proved to be quite the challenge, we had to brave leeches, and mossies, and all that mud, and rain, and going to the toilet in a hole in the ground. Absolute grossness, but we soldiered on nonetheless, only to emerge victorious! Hell yea. Was really hard leaving Bario, we had all grown so attached to the place. Don’t know about the others, but I am so definitely going back again!
Hard to believe we’ve almost completed half the challenge. Time really does fly when you’re having the time of your life. Oh well, I can hear Belle our leader for the day nagging us to hurry our butts up. So I shall conclude my ranting, and leave you for now.
Dont miss us too much now, will definitely try updating ASAP.
So long,
GAYERTREE =)
